Triton Poker Vietnam 2023: Day 1 leaderboard, payments, and prizemoney for the $100,000 Short Deck Main Event

Day 1 of the 100,000 Short Deck Ante-Only Main Event of the Triton Super High Roller series in Vietnam was led by Michael Zhang. Zhang, who was also the Day 1 chip leader in the $50,000 short deck tournament, has had an amazing run. He arrived in Vietnam after the hold’em phase of the tournament had concluded, and he is now demonstrating that he may be one of the top short deck tournament players on the globe.

Aaron Zang is in second place with 208 ante chips. When he limp-overcalled the all-ins of Isaac Haxton and Kiat Lee preflop with his jack-ten offsuit, which is a stronger hand in short deck than in long deck, he gained a substantial chip advantage. Two eights and two tens completed the board, and Zang’s full house won the pot.

Michael Watson registered late for the tournament because he was busy winning the concurrent 50,000 short deck. Sixth in chips at the end of Day One of the $1,000,000 Main Event, he maintained his impressive performance.

Zhang, Chiu, and Watson all ascended to the top of the leaderboards in the Main Event from the final table on Sunday afternoon.

Monday still has plenty of play remaining. Rebuys will be permitted until the beginning of the first level on Day Two, when rewards will also be determined.

On Monday at 1:00 p.m. local time, the remaining participants will continue play, playing down to a winner.
